Acute Care RN - Emergency Department

Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic emergency department setting within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest. This role emphasizes best practices, customer service, and adherence to professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, state nursing regulations, and evidence-based protocols.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term patient care needs.
  • Apply specialized clinical knowledge to deliver high-quality nursing care, making appropriate patient assignments based on acuity and technical requirements.
  • Engage in continuous learning and apply new skills to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, fostering respectful and collaborative relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, privacy standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate actively in professional development opportunities, including certifications, advanced education, and leadership programs.
  • Promote teamwork by mentoring peers, encouraging cooperation, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Education and Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience with at least five years in acute care if from a non-accredited program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
  • Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
Licensure and Certifications:
  • Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

This position is a full-time night shift role, offering 36 scheduled hours weekly in a supportive and growth-oriented environment serving the broader Midwest region.
