Senior Java Engineer, ETF Solutions Platform (VP)

Salary: $148,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems and platforms.
• Proven success delivering complex technology initiatives from concept through production.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native platforms, event-driven architectures, microservices, and modern software engineering practices.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Java, Python, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing and operating mission-critical production systems with demanding reliability, scalability, and performance requirements.
• Strong architectural judgment, balancing long-term strategy with pragmatic execution.
• Ability to independently drive major initiatives and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI to accelerate software development and improve engineering outcomes, including proficiency with AI-powered development tools, engineering copilots, autonomous agents, and workflow automation technologies.
• Ability to use AI to improve productivity, software quality, delivery speed, operational efficiency, and innovation; understanding of responsible AI adoption, governance, and enterprise risk considerations.
• Strong interest in using emerging AI capabilities to address real-world business and engineering challenges.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, including effectiveness in complex and ambiguous environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Design scalable, resilient, extensible platform capabilities for complex business and operational workflows; establish engineering standards and patterns that strengthen reliability, maintainability, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• Simplify complex business problems through thoughtful system design and reusable platform capabilities; assess emerging technologies and evolve ESP to support future growth and strategic opportunities.
• Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of high-impact platform capabilities, contributing directly to architecture, software development, code reviews, debugging, prototyping, performance optimization, and production support.
• Own complex initiatives across systems and technology domains, turning ambiguous business needs into practical, scalable, production-ready solutions and resolving critical technical and business problems.
• Drive engineering excellence through direct technical contribution, strong execution, and measurable outcomes; remain engaged in development and production operations for strategic initiatives.
• Partner with product, operations, and business stakeholders to identify modernization, automation, and simplification opportunities, translating operational and business needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Improve platform efficiency, resiliency, reusability, and user experience while reducing operational risk and supporting critical business capabilities.
• Champion AI-enabled engineering across architecture, development, testing, operations, and support; use AI tools and techniques to accelerate delivery, improve quality and productivity, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Prototype and validate ideas with AI-assisted development, identify opportunities to apply AI to engineering workflows and business capabilities, and establish practical guardrails for responsible adoption.
• Influence platform direction across teams and stakeholder groups, aligning colleagues on architecture, engineering standards, and technology investments.
• Represent ESP in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technology forums; advise on complex technical and business decisions and mentor engineers through technical guidance and best practices.
