Base pay range $50.00/hr - $80.00/hr Position: Insurance Underwriters Type: Hourly contract Compensation: $50–$80/hr Location: Remote Commitment: 30+ hours/week Duration: ~6 weeks Role Responsibilities Evaluate insurance applications, loss histories, and third-party reports to determine underwriting acceptability. Calculate premiums using ISO manuals, class codes, and company‑specific rating logic. Analyze historical claims data to assess loss trends and loss ratios. Draft and review policy terms, endorsements, and declarations. Review referred underwriting cases and provide documented decisions with clear risk rationale. Support the improvement of automated underwriting and risk assessment workflows. Requirements Strong experience in commercial or personal lines underwriting. Strong experience working with underwriting platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar systems. Strong familiarity with ISO classification codes, rating manuals, and policy forms. Strong ability to assess risk using multi‑source data inputs. Experience reviewing third‑party reports including CLUE, MVR, and LexisNexis.
