We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Assistant Director of Engineering with the grit, leadership, and technical command to serve as second-in-command for our Engineering Department. This role will provide vital leadership for the engineering and maintenance operations, while serving as a point of contact for our Safety and Security operation. You will be expected to lead in times of crisis, respond to emergencies, coordinate with elite security agencies, and uphold the highest standards in every aspect of your work.NOTE: This is not a 9-to-5 job. This position is responsible for the safety and security of all staff and guests over 482 acres with many moving and every changing parts. If you don't thrive in the unexpected, this isn't for you. If you do, we need you here.ResponsibilitiesLead by example: be visible, hands-on, and fully engaged with the team and the propertyServe as Acting Director of Engineering in the Director's absence, with full responsibility for all facilities operationsLead the team through any and all emergencies: system failures, weather events, medical situations and security threatsCoordinate and ensure preventative maintenance for all life safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, generators, emergency lighting, etc.)Support the engineering team with troubleshooting, repairs, and project executionMonitor and prioritize facility and maintenance related projectsOrganize and support facilities-related projects, including capital improvements and major renovations in conjunction with Director of FacilitiesMaintain inventory of critical parts, tools, and safety equipmentMonitor compliance with OSHA, fire code, and internal safety standardsOversee accident and incident investigations and reportsManage coordination with and audits of external vendors and agenciesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulationsCollaborate with internal departments and external contractors to support events, projects, and daily operationsLead facilities planning for major events, ensuring infrastructure, safety, and staffing are alignedPerform other duties as assigned by Southall LeadershipRequirements5+ years of progressive responsibility in Facilities, Engineering, Security, or a related fieldA charismatic leader who motivates others with integrity, humility, and actionThick-skinned and open to tough feedback in pursuit of excellenceClear, direct communicator — with staff, executives, vendors, and guestsObsessed with standards. Always inspiring.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance practicesPrior supervisory experience in a hospitality or complex multi-facility environment preferredProficient in Microsoft Office, property management software, and maintenance ticketing systems.
