Deputy Sheriff

Park Ranger – Temporary, Gainesville, FL Overview Provide general park protection services in all City park areas and facilities to ensure the safety and enjoyment of park patrons and their property. Perform scheduled rounds, enforce park rules and ordinances, provide assistance, and maintain logs and reports. Responsibilities Enforce park rules, safety regulations, and City ordinances in a tactful manner. Provide information to park patrons about facilities, activities, and applicable rules. Conduct scheduled patrols of parks and city facilities to deter trespassing, identify emergency situations (injury, illness, fire, water hazards, etc.), and provide immediate assistance. Perform minor first aid duties and clear paved areas of debris, branches, and other obstructions; coordinate with city services when needed. Verify that lights are turned off and doors are locked after closing hours. Operate light vehicles, two‑way radios, bicycles, and required equipment. Encourage compliance with park rules and City ordinances; notify authorities of violations and assist within legal limits. Issue citations for parking, litter, and minor violations of City park ordinances. Maintain logs and prepare incident reports. Collaborate with Gainesville Police Department personnel. Perform related duties as requested. Minimum Requirements Graduation from an accredited high school or GED. Equivalent combination of training, knowledge, skills, and experience may qualify. At least two (2) years of customer service experience. Licenses / Certifications Valid State of Florida driver’s license with a good driving record. Current CPR or First Aid certification (required at time of hire). Additional Notes College coursework or experience in recreation, law enforcement, security, or a closely related field is desirable. Eligible positions may be listed; multiple assignments may be offered. Schedule: full‑time position, 40 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, 10 hours per day; part‑time position, 20 hours per week, Friday and Saturday, 10 hours per day. #J-18808-Ljbffr Boone County Missouri
