Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy located in Brighton, is hiring a full time Chemistry / Physics Teacher. Must have a teacher certification and DX or both endorsements a plus! Charyl Stockwell Academy (CSA) District is a public school academy that serves approximately 1,250 students Kindergarten through High School. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Chemistry / Physics Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging lesson plans, hands-on experiments, and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in chemistry and a deep understanding of best practices in science education. Responsibilities Essential Duties: Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Deliver curriculum that covers key concepts in chemistry, including but not limited to atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, and thermodynamics. Organize and conduct laboratory experiments that align with the curriculum and safety protocols. Ensure that all materials and equipment are maintained and properly handled. Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, labs, and presentations. Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives. Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution. Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff Regular and predictable attendance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities. Strong understanding of chemistry concepts and ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
