Senior Cloud Data Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Data Architect to design and optimize enterprise-scale Azure data platforms that support analytics, AI, and business intelligence initiatives. This is a hands-on architecture role focused on cloud data solutions, data modeling, metadata management, and distributed data processing. Job Title: Senior Cloud Data Architect Pay Rate: Up to $75 hr/w2 Contract: 6+ Months Contract Location: San Jose, CA - 100% Onsite Responsibilities Design and implement Azure-based data architecture solutions using Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks Develop scalable data models, schemas, and enterprise data frameworks Create architecture diagrams, data flows, and technical documentation Design metadata, governance, lineage, and data quality frameworks Support distributed data processing using Spark and Databricks Develop solutions using Python and SQL Optimize cloud data platforms for performance, scalability, and reliability Partner with engineering and business teams to deliver data solutions Must Haves Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Required - Non-Negotiable) Resume must clearly show degree completion and attendance dates 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Analytics 3+ years of experience designing cloud-based data architectures Strong Azure experience including: Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks Strong data modeling, schema design, and metadata management experience Hands-on experience with Spark and Databricks Strong Python and SQL skills Experience creating architecture documentation, system diagrams, and data flow diagrams Ability to work onsite in San Jose, CA, 5 days per week Nice to Have Unity Catalog, Purview, Collibra, DataHub, or similar governance tools Airflow or dbt Data lineage and metadata automation experience CI/CD and modern data platform practices Data security and governance experience Experience with AI, machine learning, or enterprise data platforms Please note: Candidates without a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and the ability to work onsite in San Jose will not be considered.
