Class C Box Truck Driver

The Class C Box Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring timely deliveries of building materials to job sites, managing inventory in the warehouse, and providing excellent customer service. This dual-role position involves both driving and warehouse duties, requiring someone who can work efficiently, handle materials safely, and maintain a high level of accuracy.

Driving duties include operating a 16-24 foot box truck to deliver cabinets and building materials to local customers and job sites, planning delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries, loading and unloading cabinets and materials in a safe and organized manner, verifying accuracy of deliveries, maintaining delivery logs, performing routine inspections of the truck, and complying with all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws.

Warehouse duties include assisting with receiving, organizing, and stocking building materials in the warehouse, preparing orders for delivery or pick-up, operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, conducting periodic inventory checks, and assisting customers with picking up materials from the warehouse.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle, excellent communication and teamwork skills, strong problem-solving abilities, positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance, basic math and organizational skills, and the ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner.

Education, qualifications, and licensing requirements include a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, forklift certification or willingness to become certified, and prior experience in a warehouse, delivery, or logistics role preferred.

Working conditions include a fast-paced work environment with, in and around other forklifts, tractor trailers, and other vehicles. Outdoor environment includes conditions of dust, noise, temperature variations, and rain/snow. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, and reach overhead, and stand or sit for long periods of time. PPE including hardhat, safety shoes, ear, hands, and eye protection is required.
