Python Developer

Project Details:

• Python Dev - recent reorg and working to up their capabilities in Analytics and they are working on some AI bots - right now working on conversational AI & data analyst bots (taking natural language and translate to SQL)
• Planning to experiment with different python packages and see what makes the most sense
• All internal applications they will be working on API development so no external facing work

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:

• Agile team - assigned user stories, etc.
• API development --- not just in basic post/call capabilities but product exposed to APIs and needs to help with tasks like get chat history, turn into JSON records, etc.
• May communicate with the business users on some of the application development work
• Experimenting with what capabilities are of the current software / packages / software partners as well as development
• Will have clear direction, interactions, guidance from technical lead/architect on work

What are the top must-have technologies/required experience for the position?

• Python (understand how to develop stories and ask questions around what you would need to know, ask, do, etc.)
• Building APIs (FastAPI preferred but Flask or Django okay)
• Basic SQL - make sense of the SQL

Nice to haves/Preferred Skills:

• Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
• Containerization (Docker)
• GenAI/LLM/NLP - someone who wants to move more into this space and is interested in moving here and using this as a "stepping stone" would be a great candidate but don't need exp here yet
• JavaScript / UI (may help with)
• Jupyter Notebook

Education or Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree is preferred - more a learner who has some hands-on knowledge, AWS certification is a nice to have.

Level of experience target (junior/mid/senior and/or years of experience): 2-3 years target; early/mid-level


Soft skills:

• Eager to learn, not too opinionated and willing to try new things, trainable, good communication skills, willing to ask questions, etc.

Team Details:

• Other consultants in the team - small LLM product team but have other AI teams (ML/AI engineers) that may interface with as well
• Direct Team is team of 2-3 (2 other engineers + architect/tech lead)
• Agile team
