Our organization is on the lookout for board-eligible or board-certified anesthesiologists to become part of our general anesthesiology faculty. We seek collaborative individuals who are passionate about teaching residents, committed to mission-driven healthcare, and eager to work in a supportive environment where teamwork is valued.

As a part of our academic health system, our general anesthesiology faculty provides care for adult patients across a wide range of specialties at a Level I trauma center, two surgical specialty hospitals, and a busy outpatient surgery center. Additionally, they deliver obstetric anesthesia for the labor and delivery unit at our children's hospital. Faculty members may rotate among various sites, with a typical week encompassing a diverse array of surgical procedures. This includes care for patients undergoing abdominal, orthopedic, vascular, neurosurgical, ENT, urologic surgeries, trauma, obstetrics, and non-operating-room anesthesia for both healthy and medically complex patients. Resident supervision typically follows a 1:2 ratio, with CRNA oversight ranging from 1:2 to 1:4. Those interested in regional anesthesia can participate in the acute pain service. Clinical assignments are intentionally varied, and faculty members wishing to focus on specific areas of interest will receive support.

New faculty are paired with experienced mentors, and department leadership is approachable and values contributions from all faculty. We are looking for physicians who embody this spirit: stepping in to assist a colleague at the end of a long day, providing help during complex procedures, and willingly taking on unassigned cases.

Many faculty members are drawn to academic practice because of our residents. Faculty supervise and instruct residents in the operating room, during didactic sessions, and in simulation environments. The quality of clinical training is evident in our graduates, who are highly sought after by both private practices and academic institutions. We seek faculty who find this teaching role fulfilling and who uphold high standards with patience.

Our academic health system includes an anesthesiology residency, fellowship programs in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology, regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine, liver transplant, and critical care, along with an active clinical research initiative. Faculty members can progress along a structured academic pathway with support for promotions, and leadership opportunities are available in areas such as resident education, quality and safety, perioperative medicine, regional anesthesia, research, and departmental administration.

The anticipated total annual compensation ranges from $462,000 to $562,000. The starting full-time base salary is between $450,000 and $520,000, adjusted based on experience and faculty rank. Total compensation may exceed the base salary through variable and productivity-based incentives as outlined in the department's compensation plan. Faculty members interested in additional work can increase their earnings through incentivized clinical duties, extra shifts, and on-call responsibilities. Specific details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
