Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver (Templeton, MA)

 

We are thrilled to present an opening for a CDL Class B Driver within our Commercial team.

 

This position entails driving and operating our bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) while installing blasting products for clients at local construction sites, mines, and quarries. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.

 

This hybrid role comprises approximately 40% driving and 60% physical tasks related to the installation of blasting products. Key responsibilities include loading products, operating a Class B CDL truck, managing hoses, controlling manufacturing unit systems, and climbing on and off the bulk truck in varying weather conditions.

 

Moreover, you will operate equipment to deliver blasting products while ensuring high-quality service of bulk explosives to our customers. Safety is our top priority, and we are committed to conducting all operations in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Work Schedule

 

• Monday to Friday
• Local driving (1-3 hours)
• Early morning starts between 3 AM and 5 AM
• Approximately 10-12 hours of work each day
• Overtime may be required
• Up to 10% overnight travel may be necessary

Key Responsibilities

 

• This role involves 40% driving and 60% physical labor
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and replenishing fluid levels
• Safely connect and disconnect trailers
• Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
• Ensure proper handling, usage, and storage of raw materials and hazardous goods
• Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control
• Immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents
• Engage in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings

Qualifications

 

• Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling preferred
• Familiarity with DOT regulations is essential
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Attention to detail and basic math skills for daily inventory management
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to enhance efficiency

Physical Demands

 

• Work environment includes outdoor conditions in various weather
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of products or materials
• Capable of loading products, pulling large hoses, filling holes, and climbing on/off the truck
• Regularly shoveling gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day
• Engaging in pushing/pulling while working with equipment
• Frequent bending and squatting required

Required Credentials

 

• Must possess a Class B CDL; Class A is advantageous
• Tanker endorsement preferred
• Hazmat endorsement preferred
• Support for obtaining endorsements will be provided
• At least one year of driving experience is preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent is required

Compensation Details

 

• Hourly Pay Range: $28-34
• Signing Bonus: $4,500

 

(Compensation will be determined based on the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.)
