Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health)

Shift ***am-2pm with days off on Wednesday and Thursday Job Description Provides patient care as directed, including administering medications (oral, intramuscular, and intravenous) and monitoring patient medication compliance. Performs treatments and assists with nurse and doctor sick calls. Manages nursing care in chronic care clinics and responds to emergencies by providing emergency care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Conducts subjective and objective patient assessments, collects vital signs, and documents all findings promptly. Collects urine and other bodily fluid specimens. Prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities by reviewing patient care and transfer or release summaries. Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services in a timely manner. Participates in work-related and institutional training exercises. Assists other healthcare staff and investigates and documents problem areas or concerns. Reviews shift reports from previous shifts. Assists physicians with medical procedures. Assumes duties of other nurses during absences. Provides counseling and education to patients on healthcare maintenance and disease prevention. Participates in quality assurance activities. Provides training and work direction to new nurses, agency nurses, licensed practical nurses, and hospital aides. Serves as a resource for healthcare and security staff regarding healthcare matters. Provides orientation and training for new healthcare personnel under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor. Acts as the lead clinical authority on site in the absence of higher-level clinical staff. Participates in group programming and health and wellness initiatives. Performs administrative duties as needed. Attends meetings and schedules multidisciplinary team meetings.
