Data Architect

*Lead Data Architect*
Hybrid 2x onsite in Charlotte, NC

*Description*
Responsibilities:
* Hands on development and support new or existing data applications
* Work closely with business teams and analysts to understand data flows, business processes, and
make recommendations to clients as requested on best practices or long-term solutions to resolve current issues and also for future system design
* Partner with Application and Enterprise Architects to review lowlevel implementation designs and understand highlevel data flow architectures
* Provide direction to engineering teams implementing complex data solutions
* Support design, development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation of data engineering and integration applications
* Maintain detailed documentation to support downstream integrations and operational continuity
* Provide support for production issues and ensure stability of data pipelines
* Perform Scrum Master activities to drive delivery and team coordination
* Identify emerging technology trends and evaluate opportunities for adoption
* Contribute to the roadmap for migrating onprem systems to cloudnative architectures
* AI & LLM usage - Leverage Databricks' builtin LLM and AI capabilities for problemsolving and automation
* Crossteam alignment - Collaborate with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders across the enterprise
* Delivery excellence - Drive delivery outcomes; delivery is the primary metric for success


Qualifications
* 5-7 years in Data warehousing, Data integration, or Data engineering
* Ability to work effectively with teams across the enterprise
* Strong SQL and database fundamentals
* Proficient in Databricks and modern Databricks capabilities (Unity Catalog, Databricks One, LLMs, etc.)
* Experience working within Azure ecosystem
* Experience with Informatica PowerCenter, IICS, Cognos, and Netezza Performance Servers
* Experience with PowerBI, AzureML, Databricks, or Synapse
* Experience using PySpark, Python, or Scala
* Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub preferred
* Property&Casualty insurance experience preferred
* Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field preferred

*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
