Job Summary and Responsibilities Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II performs functions related to pharmaceutical preparation and distribution. These functions are assigned by pharmacists and pharmacy leaders based on the pharmacy workflow to support patient care needs. Responsibilities may include: non‑sterile compounding sterile compounding hazardous compounding stocking automated dispensing cabinets unit dose drug preparation delivering medications to patient care areas checking medication storage areas for out‑dates billing other duties as assigned The Pharmacy Technician II has a breadth of skills to allow rotation through four or more of these areas, as defined by facility needs: Main Pharmacy, Pyxis, CII Safe, Sterile Compounding, Non Sterile compounding, Hazardous Compounding, and Controlled Substance Tech duties. Qualifications One year of Pharmacy TechnicianI (or 3 years of previous relevant experience) is required; inpatient experience strongly preferred Technician license/certification with the applicable state Board of Pharmacy Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT, ExCPT, or national equivalent accredited by NCCA) is required. ASHP certificates are preferred Highschool diploma or equivalent As defined in competencies; ability to work accurately with attention to detail. Possesses communication, teamwork, customer service, computer skills, problem solving and organizational skills. Pharmacy Technicians work under the direct supervision of pharmacists and pharmacy leadership, incompliance with applicable policies, law, regulations, practices and procedures prescribed by his/her immediate supervisor Orientation period: four to six weeks Location Menorah Medical Center is located in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas.
