Antitrust & Merger Control Associate

Location: Houston, San Antonio, or Washington, DC | Workplace: Flexible | Employment: Full-time

A leading global law firm is seeking an Antitrust & Merger Control Associate to join its highly regarded Antitrust team. The role focuses primarily on HSR compliance, merger reviews, and regulatory clearance before the DOJ and FTC, with opportunities to work on investigations, counseling, compliance, and litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage HSR filings and merger reviews.
  • Respond to Second Requests and assist with timing agreements and regulatory matters.
  • Conduct antitrust analysis involving mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Advise clients on merger control, regulatory, and competition risks.
  • Conduct antitrust due diligence and coordinate multi-jurisdictional filings.
  • Support DOJ, FTC, and state AG investigations and enforcement matters.
  • Work with cross-border and multidisciplinary teams across industries.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of substantive antitrust/competition law experience.
  • Significant HSR filing and merger review experience.
  • Experience with Second Requests and timing agreements.
  • Strong merger, acquisition, and JV analysis skills.
  • Experience with government investigations or enforcement.
  • Active bar admission and good standing.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Compensation: $245,000-$320,000 in select major U.S. markets, depending on experience and class year, plus potential bonus and benefits.
