Activities Assistant

Job Summary:

Copper Ridge Nursing & Assisted Living Center is seeking a positive and compassionate Full-time Activities Assistant to plan and coordinate events that encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation among our residents/patients. As an Activities Assistant, you will be responsible for creating and managing daily, weekly, and monthly events that cater to the unique needs and interests of our population.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly events to promote socialization, relaxation, and recreation

• Implement activities that accommodate individuals with special needs

• Manage logistics to ensure successful event execution, including phone calls, advertising, inventory, and budget management

• Observe participants to gauge their enjoyment and gather feedback to improve events

• Maintain records of event planning, participant interest, and notable events

• Report medical concerns or observations

• Ensure events are well-provisioned, staff is trained, and events take place on time and within budget

• Provide participants with event instructions

• Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures

Requirements:

• High school diploma and certain certifications may be required

• More education or experience in a nursing home setting is preferred, recreational activities, event planning, or related fields may be preferred

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening and provide required vaccination records

• Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands

• Adaptability, strong organization, and time management skills

• Excellent resource management, computer, record-keeping, interpersonal, decision-making, and verbal and written communication skills

• Patience and compassion when dealing with others

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings

• Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:

• Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in activities planning in a assisted living and/or long-term care setting preferred but not required.
