Work Schedule and Hours - Typical office hours are Monday-Friday 8am 5 pm; with expected nights and weekends as needed to respond to student issues, on-call coverage and attendance at other campus events and activities.

Position Summary - The Director of Student Care and Conduct reports to the Dean of Students and provides support to the Dean of Students. The primary responsibilities of the Director of Student Care and Conduct include but is not limited to: assist in the design and implementation of a restorative justice centered student conduct model. Assist in developing and maintaining relevant programming that support preventative outreach and solution/resolution processes. Investigate allegations of student violations of University policies, including the Student Code of Responsibility and the Sexual Misconduct policy. Oversee prompt, effective and equitable processes and procedures for intake, investigation, and timely resolution of allegations of student violations of University policies. Balance the needs of the individual while upholding the policies and processes of the University while considering equity for all students. Serve on university committees that prioritize the student experience, and provide expertise on challenges faced by students. Serve as adjunct faculty for the first year seminar (IGNITE). Follow-up contact and or appointments based on the student's situation management plans designed to address presenting and ongoing concerns and assist the student in reducing barriers to success. Responsible for assisting in the coordination of case management efforts for the Office of the Dean of Students assists in identifying individual needs of students and coordinating intervention and support to address these needs participates as a team member of the Care and Crisis Team provides direct intervention and support for students in crisis; formulates intervention plans and follows up in order to minimize and/or resolve problems in conjunction with other Student Affairs staff. Assists in collecting and evaluating facts pertaining to student cases provides follow-up and accountability for students on behavioral, conduct or intervention agreements or sanctions. Provides timely follow up with other university departments and community agencies for resources works closely with Residence Life, Health and Counseling, the Academic Success Center, Academic Accessibility, Campus Police, Campus Life and other campus constituencies. Works collaboratively with campus and community partners, including faculty and staff, as well as parents and family members in order to resolve/address student issues in collaboration with the Dean of Students, provides programming, training and outreach to assist campus constituents in assisting our students who may be having difficulty assists in the facilitation of the exit/readmission of students, subsequent to leave of absence or withdrawal due to behavioral, psychological or medically related matters supports the work of the Dean of Students Office, including but not limited to managing crises such as a student death, etc.
FLSA - Exempt
Required Education/Experience/Skills - Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills - Five to seven years of progressive responsibility and experience in Residence Life/Housing, Student Affairs, Student Conduct, Crisis Management and/or student development. Extensive knowledge in student development theory, behavioral intervention, threat assessment, student intervention and success strategies and experience in responding to student issues in an on-call format. Demonstrated leadership in managing student issues and crises. Experience in managing and overseeing a student conduct system with a comprehensive knowledge of current trends, and the best practices of such programs through a restorative justice lens. Experience in conducting investigations, prior experience as a Title IX or civil rights investigator

Ability to manage multiple tasks, exemplify an understanding and commitment to diversity and to provide exemplary customer service. Knowledge of legal and risk management issues in higher education. Ability to plan and facilitate programs of an educational nature.
