Description of Work


The Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families & Schools is an interdisciplinary research center in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Our mission is to make a positive difference in people's lives through research in the social, behavioral and educational sciences. We conduct grant-funded research, provide comprehensive research support, and share research findings across audiences and platforms.

As a Grants Coordinator, you will:
  • Serve in a customer-facing role and is responsible for ensuring grant transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Primarily execute and review routine and complex pre- and post-award grant transactions.
  • Work closely with employees within the departments served, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Function under general supervision and is expected to utilize technology to provide professional services.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma plus three (3) years of related finance or grant management work experience; OR
  • Associate degree in a related field plus one (1) year of related finance or grant mangagement work experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of finance terminology and practices.
Preferred Qualifications


The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
  • Experience performing project or cost accounting.
  • Experience with SAP or similar large integrated finance system.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.
  • Knowledge of grant terminology and practices.
