Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients ensuring safety and comfort during the procedure
• Prepare specimens for lab testing in accordance with established procedures
• Verify patient demographics and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of the patient
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing
• Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear explanations about procedures to instill trust
• Follow all safety protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain a professional environment
• Perform specimen collection across various settings, including patient service centers and in-office locations
• Exercise good judgment in decision-making based on established procedures
• Adhere to confidentiality guidelines and promote a positive image to patients and staff
• Maintain flexibility to support staffing needs, including working weekends, holidays, and varied hours

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
• Ability to perform accurate and error-free work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with professionalism and efficiency
• Reliability and a dependable transportation method to ensure timely arrival at work locations

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred
• Must have reliable transportation; candidates should be within a 20-25 minute commute to the job site
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
• Must be punctual, on time, and committed to completing entire shifts without excessive absenteeism or tardiness
• Physical ability to perform blood draws and handle multiple priorities in high-volume settings
• Must list home city and commute time on resume
