Bilfinger Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager at our location in Kansas City, KS. Responsibilities include developing and implementing innovative HSEQ programs and strategies, supervising and administering safety activities, coordinating and maintaining all documents relating to safety and accident prevention, maintaining health and safety records of all employees to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, actively managing and coordinating all workers' compensation claims including the Return-to-Work program, participating and providing input on the prequalification of new sub-contractors, facilitating and coordinating the Safety Committee and working to implement a positive, employee-supported program, conducting unscheduled and scheduled inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations, conducting employee and contractor safety orientation and trainings, conducting incident investigations identifying root causes and executing sustainable corrective actions, monitoring company and contractor safety performance, conducting toolbox talks, project audits and safety inspections, reviewing and providing input on construction work plans with project managers, supporting our clients desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted HSEQ assessments, providing coaching and support to construction field operations, and working with various project teams to effectively implement assignments.

Requirements include a minimum of 10 years with safety experience in an industrial construction setting, experience as a safety professional with a demonstrated progression of management responsibility, a B.S. in Safety, Occupational Health, or HSEQ, experience in excavation, lifting and rigging, crane operations, demolition, confined space, working at height, steel erection, scaffold and other construction processes, strong management and organizational skills, broad-based background in multiple phases of construction, business acumen, conflict resolution, and coaching ability, ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner, effective communication skills, with strong technical writing skills, the ability to speak in front of large groups, proven leadership skills in motivating and mentoring all levels of employees, proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to walk extensively, climb stairs, and ladders or scaffolds throughout diverse work environments as required by business demands.
