Head Coach, Women's Lacrosse

The Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Powers Catholic High School leads, organizes, and administers the girls lacrosse program, reporting to the Athletics Director. The role is part-time, exempt, and follows the MHSAA-defined season. Position Overview The Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Powers Catholic High School leads, organizes, and administers the girls lacrosse program, reporting to the Athletics Director. The role is part-time, exempt, and follows the MHSAA-defined season. Core Responsibilities Leadership & Mentoring Uphold Catholic education values and act as a role model for students and staff. Mentor subordinate coaches and provide channels for feedback from students, coaches, and the community. Represent the program to booster groups and maintain professional standards. Program Development Collaborate with other coaches and school groups. Set program goals, coordinate instructional approaches, and support off-season training. Engage in professional development. Student-Athlete Development Monitor academic performance and support student-athletes' health and safety. Involve athletes in service projects and foster their full potential. Coaching Use effective teaching and motivational techniques. Develop and assess practice plans and team standards. Adjust strategies during contests as needed. Communication & Relationships Build positive relationships with athletes, parents, staff, and the broader school community. Participate in school service and campus activities beyond lacrosse. Administration & Organization Ensure compliance with all relevant rules and deadlines. Manage program budgets, equipment, eligibility, and injury records. Prepare for emergencies and evaluate subordinate coaches. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (preferred), coursework in coaching, and valid teaching certificate (preferred). Valid driver's license, first aid, concussion, and CPR certification. Experience with high school girls lacrosse (playing/coaching). Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to use technology for program management. Must pass background checks and complete required workshops. Physical Demands & Work Environment Requires talking, hearing, handling objects, standing, walking, jogging, and occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs).
