General Worker Position

Applications from qualified local candidates for the general worker position at Bloomfield High School. Work day 10-month position 183 days (including 1-day training, school opening, and cleaning day) 4.75 hours per day/ 23.75 hours per week (9:00 am to 1:45 pm) Hourly wage $17.61.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Duties:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Responsible for all general food preparation, serving, and sanitation procedures
• Assists with preparing vegetables, fruits, salads, sandwiches, and other menu items
• Sets up hot and/or cold food areas
• Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping floors, cleaning equipment and work areas, dishwashing, and pot washing
• Assists in receiving and storing food items
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds
• Assists in serving of daily menu items
• Cashiering experience desired, but not required
• Willingness to learn
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisors
• Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and courteously with students, food service department staff, and school personnel
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
