Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Job Title MO-SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis Worker Type: Regular Job Summary Plans, coordinates, and implements care for adult patients in the Interventional Radiology department. Ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with the unit's standards of care. Responsibilities Performs on the Interventional Radiology procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor. Ensures patients are correctly prepped for the procedure. Provides required information such as history and physical (H&P) timely. Utilizes critical judgment to analyze patient assessment and administer medications to all patients, including critically ill patients. Reports abnormal information to the physician promptly. Performs hemostasis safely and properly with or without vascular devices. Routinely enters patient orders and charges, checks charges for accuracy. Provides care to critically ill patients, functioning independently in stressful situations. Educates patients and families based on assessed needs, documents education, and keeps them informed of tests and treatments. Provides clear patient instruction on what to expect during the perioperative procedure. Assists families to the cardiology or cath lab area by escorting when necessary. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing school or holds an equivalent education for licensing. No professional experience required. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech to share information orally. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects 0‑25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception (20 inches or less; 20 feet or more) to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors. Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, and hear alarms or machinery. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects 25‑50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional driving. Rare crawling and running. Licenses & Certifications Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Life Support (ALS) – American Heart Association (AHA) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association (AHA) State-specific RN license (Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin) or RN issued by Compact State.
