IT Specialist 

Position Summary

The IT Specialist is responsible for driving technology improvements, infrastructure modernization, ERP system support, and IT projects that enable operational excellence at PTI. This role proactively identifies, plans, and implements initiatives that improve system reliability, cybersecurity, network performance, shop floor technology, operational efficiency, and user productivity. The position serves as a key local resource for ERP administration, support, system enhancements, process optimization, and collaboration with business stakeholders and enterprise application teams to ensure technology solutions effectively support business operations.

Working closely with site leadership, business stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors, and Safran Aircraft Engines (SAE) enterprise IT organizations, the IT Specialist serves as the local technical lead for infrastructure enhancements, ERP-related initiatives, network improvements, manufacturing and shop floor technology deployments, and continuous improvement efforts. While providing advanced IT support when required, the primary focus of this role is delivering projects and technology initiatives that enhance business systems, strengthen infrastructure, improve manufacturing operations, and support the organization's long-term growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead and coordinate local IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, workstation refreshes, technology deployments, and system implementations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve IT services, automate manual processes, enhance cybersecurity, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and implementation strategies for assigned initiatives.
  • Track project progress, communicate status updates, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Support digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives across the facility.
  • Recommend and implement innovative technology solutions that improve productivity and business performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through analysis, user feedback, and industry best practices.

• Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Support, maintain, and improve site infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, endpoint devices, printers, and shop floor technology.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Coordinate lifecycle management activities, including hardware replacements, upgrades, and technology refreshes.
  • Support ERP, production, engineering, and business applications in collaboration with enterprise IT teams and vendors.
  • Serve as the local IT point of contact for ERP systems, coordinating support activities, user access, troubleshooting, testing, upgrades, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with business stakeholders and enterprise application teams.
  • Assist with business application enhancements, system testing, documentation, and user training as needed.

• Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability remediation, patch management, endpoint protection, access controls, and system hardening.
  • Participate in security audits, compliance reviews, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Ensure adherence to Safran and enterprise IT security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup validation, and business continuity activities as required.

• Service Management & Technical Support

  • Serve as the final escalation point for complex onsite technical issues impacting site operations.
  • Execute incident, request, problem, and change management activities through ServiceNow or approved ITSM platforms.
  • Assist with account provisioning, access management, and identity-related tasks in coordination with enterprise IT teams.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance during system deployments, upgrades, and operational support activities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining focus on long-term technology improvements and operational stability.

• Asset, Vendor & Documentation Management

  • Coordinate IT equipment procurement, inventory management, and vendor support activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including asset records, network diagrams, project documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities related to IT projects and infrastructure improvements.
  • Assist with vendor evaluations, quotations, and technology solution recommendations.

• Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with site leadership and business stakeholders to understand business needs and develop technology solutions that support operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with SAE and enterprise IT teams to implement corporate technology standards and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as the local technical lead for assigned infrastructure, ERP, modernization, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems administration, manufacturing technologies, business systems, or site IT operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience supporting ERP, production control, quality, engineering, or other business-critical manufacturing systems.
• Experience coordinating and executing technology improvements, infrastructure upgrades, or business system initiatives.
• Experience supporting end users, devices, and local infrastructure in an operational environment.
• Working knowledge of Windows environments, networking, hardware support, cybersecurity fundamentals, and IT service management processes.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, device deployment, endpoint management, and user lifecycle administration.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently and resolve problems efficiently.
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work proactively, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive initiatives to successful completion.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Exposure to ITIL principles, change management processes, and structured service management environments.
• Experience participating in IT infrastructure upgrades, technology deployments, digital transformation, or continuous improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.
• On-call availability as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, or repair shop environments.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting shop floor systems, manufacturing equipment connectivity, or operational technology (OT) environments.
