Working Title: Mental Health Program Assistant Job ID: 94828 – Fergus Falls, MN – Part‑time – Rotating shift (6:30 am‑3:00 pm, 6:30 am‑5:00 pm, 11:00 am‑9:30 pm, 1:00 pm‑9:30 pm), variable days including weekends and holidays. Job Summary The Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Fergus Falls is a small inpatient psychiatric facility. The Mental Health Program Assistant works with staff to provide evidence‑based care, develop treatment plans, and deliver medical and psychiatric care under Registered Nurse supervision. Responsibilities Support and mentor staff in evidence‑based practices. Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Serve as a role model to patients, promoting mutual respect, independence, responsibility, and self‑control. Provide medical and psychiatric care, including taking vital signs and administering medications. Assist with group therapy and teach specialized, vocational, recreation, and life skills. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of: Behavior modification theory and techniques sufficient to implement behavior management components of treatment plans. Mental illness sufficient to design and implement individual treatment plans, identify and control aggressive or violent behavior. Therapeutic intervention techniques sufficient to control aggressive or violent behavior. Laws, rules, regulations and policies governing treatment of mental illness and vulnerable adults sufficient to protect the rights of clients and residents. Ability to: Perform basic health‑care procedures such as taking vital signs and administering medications. Observe, interpret and document client behaviors, providing information for evaluation and treatment planning. Read, write and speak English, sufficient to interpret, implement and evaluate treatment plans for mentally ill clients. Interact with clients, assisting in delivery of group therapy, teaching specialized and vocational skills, and teaching recreation and life skills. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
