Mechanical Assembler

This role focuses on building fluid power hoses from start to finish, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing fittings on high-pressure hose assemblies. You work on a production floor at dedicated workstations, either independently or as part of a team, performing repetitive but detail-oriented tasks that directly impact product safety and performance.

• Measure fluid power hoses accurately using a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
• Cut hoses by hand using pliers or by operating hose cutting machines, following specifications and blueprints.
• Assemble hoses and install appropriate fittings, ensuring proper alignment, secure connections, and leak-free assemblies.
• Build high-pressure hoses from start to finish, working independently on complex assemblies where safety and precision are critical.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to complete assemblies to required standards.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during hose fabrication and assembly processes.
• Inspect hoses and fittings for defects or errors, identify mistakes, and correct them prior to testing or shipment.
• Work in a production environment performing repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with team members in the hose assembly area, supporting others and contributing to a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Take initiative to keep work areas organized, manage workflow, and proactively address issues that arise during assembly.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent injury, especially when working with high-pressure hose assemblies.

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16 of an inch.
• Comfort working with hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Capability to stand for an 8-hour shift on the production floor.
• Experience completing complex mechanical assemblies, such as rebuilding engines or performing start-to-finish assembly work rather than simple line assembly.
• Basic assembly skills, including working with components and fittings in a repetitive, production-oriented setting.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints or technical drawings related to hose assemblies.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high-pressure hoses are assembled correctly and safely.
• Reliability and willingness to work independently on higher-level assembly tasks as needed.
• High school diploma or GED that can be verified (required for permanent employment).

• Experience in fabrication or similar mechanical assembly roles.
• Comfort working in both independent and team-based assembly environments.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and correct mistakes in assembled products.
• Willingness to take initiative, help others, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

The role is based in a standard manufacturing and production environment with multiple workstations dedicated to hose assembly. You work alongside approximately ten colleagues in the hose assembly area, contributing to a team-oriented atmosphere where collaboration, accountability, and a strong culture fit are important. The dress code is casual, allowing jeans, T-shirts, and tennis shoes, which supports comfort during an active, hands-on workday. Work is performed on the first shift, with a normal schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. At times, extended hours may be required, such as a 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule, depending on production needs. The environment involves standing for most of the day, working with hand and power tools, and operating hose cutting and assembly machinery, all within established safety guidelines.

This is a Permanent position based out of ARDEN HILLS, MN.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
