Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Marine Technician to perform service and repair on a variety of outboard, inboard, and sterndrive engines from major brands. This role involves conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, and installing various marine equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair outboard, inboard, and sterndrive engines, including major brands.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, cooling system service, and seasonal preparation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including batteries, wiring, charging systems, and marine electronics.
• Install and service navigation equipment, audio systems, pumps, steering systems, generators, and HVAC units.
• Conduct comprehensive vessel inspections, identifying mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
• Document all work performed, including parts used, labor time, and diagnostic notes.
• Provide clear, professional communication to customers and service advisors.
• Assist with haul-outs, launches, sea trials, and dockside service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Experience as a Marine Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and onboard electrical/mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with major brands such as Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, and Cummins.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license; boating experience preferred.
• Preferred certifications: ABYC, NMEA, Manufacturer-specific training (Mercury, Yamaha, etc.)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quincy, MA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Quincy,MA.
