The role collaborates closely with Exercise Physiologists, Physicians, and Allied Health Technicians. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of patient health status following standards of care and disease‑specific protocols Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize resources Provide direct nursing care and supervise non‑licensed nursing staff within RN scope and policy Provide education and emotional support tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstance; integrate patient/family teaching into all aspects of practice Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN or equivalent Basic knowledge of dysrhythmia recognition, cardiovascular pathophysiology, cardiovascular/pulmonary assessment, and exercise physiology Computer skills, educational planning, and teaching skills; holistic view of patient education; experience with older adults is important BLS certification required Current license as a registered professional nurse in state(s) of practice or an active compact license Preferred ACSM certification at Exercise Specialist level, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, or ANA Cardiac Rehabilitation certification Minimum 1‑year experience in ICU, CCU, or other critical care nursing; 1‑year experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital with a range of specialty services.
