Building Groundskeeper Maintenance - 1st Shift - Tecumseh, NE

Job Summary Operating rolling stock, maintaining building equipment and grounds, and providing backup to wastewater treatment and sanitation tech positions. Pay: $18.60 - $22.00 (depending on experience). Responsibilities General repair and maintenance of building, forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles and equipment. Maintain company grounds, including snow/ice removal and lawn work. Maintain and safely operate all company rolling stock. Repair or replace facility light bulbs as needed. Repair facility plumbing as required. Backup Waste Water Treatment Plant operator. Backup Sanitation Operator sweeping designated areas. Trash removal from the facility. Maintain cleanliness of truck sheds, loafing shed, and maintenance shop. Maintain the bone yard for cleanliness. Assist with roof repairs and clean‑up. Perform any other essential duties directed by shift maintenance supervisors or lead. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred Associate's degree in mechanical trade). Mechanical background and basic plumbing skills. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including preventive and scheduled maintenance. Experience with general hand tools and light fixtures. Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain operator licenses for forklift, skid loader, and pallet jack. Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations. Good communication skills; able to read, write, and maintain records. Physical Requirements Stand & walk continuously (at least 8 hours a day) or occasionally (1‑3 hours a day); bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder, crouch, kneel, push/pull. Frequently lift/carry 1‑10 lbs., occasionally up to 35‑50 lbs. Rarely over 50 lbs. with assistance. Continuous exposure to moving machinery, temperature/humidity changes, dust, fumes, gases, ladder work at unprotected heights, dead birds and strong chicken odor. Employment History Requirement 6 month work history or participation in an industrial maintenance educational program; maintenance experience preferred. Rehire Consideration Maximum of two previous Tyson employments, 90‑day waiting period. Shift & Work Hours 1st Shift (United States of America).
