Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Navy blue scrubs required Description: Nurses in the Progressive Critical Care Unit care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Common conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Candidates must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations. Knowledge of advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols, is essential. Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, and thrombo-embolytics is required. Familiarity with IV lines, CVP monitoring, external ventricular drains, ortho traction, and infection prevention protocols is necessary. Candidates should have experience with high-flow nasal cannula, BiPap, and Cpap. Candidates with large-scale adult progressive critical care experience and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well. The average patient load is 3 high-acuity patients. A competency test is required within 24 hours of submission.
