THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking a Human Services Program Specialist who is ready to take on challenging and important work. In this role, you will review information, analyze data, and help identify fraud, waste, and abuse within key programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Bureau of Program Integrity by reviewing referrals, analyzing data, and helping identify fraud, waste, and abuse within the Medical Assistance Program. As a Human Services Program Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

• Case Analysis: Review referrals, analyze claim and encounter data, and identify discrepancies in provider records
• Case Coordination: Organize assigned cases by planning review activities and ensuring work is completed on schedule
• Service Evaluation: Assess the type and amount of authorized services and confirm that documentation supports billing
• Report Preparation: Develop case findings, consult with medical staff, and prepare letters and recommendations
• Referral Support: Prepare materials for internal and external stakeholders, including fraud control partners
• Records Management: Maintain tracking information and manage paper and electronic case files in accordance with policy

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs.
