Job Description: The Certified Nurse Assistant functions as a clinical support partner to assist the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional.

Prior to applying, please review: To support the scheduling needs of the department, candidates must have availability across all seven days and nights of the week . Scheduling will be based on department needs and available preceptor coverage.

New caregivers must also be available to attend on-site orientation on Monday and Tuesday of their first week . In-person attendance during these initial orientation days helps provide a smooth and successful onboarding experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Carries out care as delegated by the RN.
• Receives report from RN daily by 0830 or 2030 to coordinate plan of care related to ADL's. Documents all ADL's for each patient every shift.
• Answers lights, or intercom system to determine patients' needs.
• Serves and collects food trays and feeds patients requiring help.
• Transports patients or assists patients to walk.
• Runs errands, and direct visitors.
• Participates in admission/discharge activities.
• Accurately documents the care provided to patient during shift.
• Adheres to infection prevention strategies.
• Stock rooms with supplies. Stock isolation racks with supplies.
• Responsible to perform purposeful rounding.
• Updates "care boards" to include name, plan related to ADL/s, date

• Entry Rate: Depending on experience PLUS shift differentials
• Benefits Eligible: No
• Shift Details: PRN 2: must work 4 shifts per 6-week schedule, one holiday shift per calendar year, two weekend shift per schedule
• Department: Med-Surg - primary floor will be 3rd, but will float to 5th floor as necessary, and occasionally to the ED as a sitter.
• This position is a Teamsters position so union dues/ membership is mandatory

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Current Montana C.N.A. certification required upon hire
• BLS required within 60 days of hire

Preferred:

• Previous hospital experience

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
