Responsibilities The Occupational Therapist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in‑home setting for the older adult population. The setting could be a patient’s private residence or a patient’s room in an independent living facility. Powerback Rehabilitation To You allows the Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat in the most functional environment which is the patient’s home. Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Facilitate learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, to diminish or correct pathology. Provide a flexible schedule and work environment in various settings. Supervise OT Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements. Ensure adherence to department and patient treatment schedule and timely documentation, including clinical and billing requirements. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences and other related meetings. Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive needs. Consult with other rehabilitation team members, including community physicians, to select appropriate therapeutic regimen. Adapt program and/or plan of care according to individual patient needs. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary. Clean, maintain, identify, and report repair needs for equipment. Puts patient service first: ensure highest quality of service in caring and compassionate environment. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients: history, systems review, tests and measures, synthesize information to establish diagnosis, identify impairments, determine predicted improvement. Develop treatment goals and methods with patient and caregivers, implement OT plan, complete documentation and record keeping. Services include cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, perceptual abilities, sensory awareness, sitting and standing tolerance, balance, activities of daily living, joint protection, work simplification, orientation, physical agent modalities, low vision, falls risk management, medication management, health and wellness, community integration and reintegration, case management in home and community. Design, fabricate, fit and/or apply adaptive devices and train patients on their use (orthotics and prosthetics). Select appropriate activities suited to the individual’s physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interest. Instruct patients in skills needed for functional activities and evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior. Perform routine reexamination as needed to modify progress of treatment. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards. Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of practice. Valid driver’s license or reliable independent transportation to patient residences. Posted Salary Range: USD $43.00 – $63.00 /Hr. Bonus: USD $5,000.00 #J-18808-Ljbffr
