Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do:Take medical histories and verify informationPerform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopyUtilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurementsInform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issuesDilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye examExplain how to properly use eye drops or other medicationsExplain how to properly use contact lensesAssist with inventory managementQualificationsWhat You Will Bring:High school diploma or GED certificatePrevious experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.Experience with EMR toolsProficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plusWhat we offer:Competitive compensation packageExcellent comprehensive benefits401(K)Significant eye care discountsContinuing education allowancesCareer growth and developmentPTO and holidays offWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
