Packaging OperatorLocation: East Durham, NY 12423 Type: Contract Compensation: $26.95/hr. (includes shift diff) Work Model: Onsite Hours: 12.5 hours, 2/2/3 rotation - 7pm-7:30amResponsibilitiesOperate our state-of-the-art fully automated toothpaste packaging lines operating at speeds up to 450 tubes per minuteHandle packaging materials (cases of tubes and cartons, bundles of shippers, rolls of labels and wrap, slip sheets, caps, corners, pallets, etc.) and finished goodsMaintain cleanliness of the area and the equipmentPerform autonomous maintenance activities to keep the lines producing at top performanceAssist maintenance technician on preventive maintenance activitiesConduct inventories of packaging materials and productsPerform all activities while focusing on safety and compliancePerform transactions in our enterprise resource system (SAP) to manage materials from receipt to final productPerform frequent quality checks and accurately document the resultsDocument batch activity on computerized systemIdentify and action process improvementUnderstand and comply with all pertinent procedures, work instructions, forms, batch documentation and good manufacturing practicesSearch for cost savings and waste reduction opportunitiesRequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDAbility to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend offBasic computer skills (Data entry, email, file access, Microsoft Word and Excel)Manufacturing or Production environment experience (preferred)Experience with equipment/machinery maintenance and changeovers (preferred)Able to effectively communicate and work with co-workers, management, and other departments (preferred)Ability to routinely lift up to 55 pounds, stand, bend and walk for extended periods of time (preferred)Ability to work overtime to fulfill business need (preferred)Ability to operate industrial power lifts (pallet jacks and forklifts) (preferred)Confident in the use of basic math calculations, percentages, fractions, and decimal notation (preferred)Familiar with different measurement schemes (e.g., Kilograms vs pounds) (preferred)System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
