Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical and oncology experience required. Hematology oncology experience is strongly preferred. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification preferred. Must-Have: Experience with computerized charting; EPIC experience required. Telemetry monitoring skills are essential. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias is necessary. Skills in administering blood products and managing central lines are required. Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical oncology. The role involves caring for patients with various hematologic conditions. Patient diagnoses may include acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, and multiple myeloma among others. Experience with autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants is valuable. The nurse will work closely with a multidisciplinary team. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety is required. Candidates must have skills in isolation precautions and administering medications. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential. Flexibility to accommodate shift changes based on departmental needs is necessary. Willingness to comply with credentialing and any necessary training is expected.
