Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s accounting operations. This role performs day‑to‑day accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out responsibilities in compliance with company policies, work procedures, and federal, state, and local laws. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and health and safety rules and regulations.
• Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger transactions
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year‑end account reconciliations
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
• Serve as the lead for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
  • Oversee end‑to‑end AP processing, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and timely payments
  • Lead AR processes including billing, cash application, collections, and customer account reconciliations
  • Resolve vendor and customer inquiries and discrepancies
  • Monitor AP and AR aging reports and recommend improvements
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and analysis for management
• Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations
• Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Support continuous process improvements within the accounting function
• Maintain a positive and productive relationship with co-workers and others with whom the position may have contact.
• Perform tasks with safety in mind for self and others. Use personal protective equipment as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in personal care, cosmetics, OTC, food, or similar manufacturing industry.
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., ERP/MRP systems).
• Strong Excel skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a team player and be able to work independently.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with others in an effective and professional manner.
• Strong ethical judgment and professionalism
• Must have solid mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, dimensions, weights, convert English/Metric units, and apply concepts to practical situations
• Must be able to work in person onsite.

The compensation range for this role is $78,000 - $92,000 per year. Compensation is commensurate with level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.
