Position Description Unit Information: PEDS CICU Location: Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Address: 3186 S. Maryland Pkwy. Las Vegas, NV 89109 Floor: 5th Floor Building: Sunrise Children's Hospital (Tower 2) General Information Tell us about the unit(s): • Number of Beds - 14 private rooms (+6 overflow in PICU on same floor) • Number of Staff - 43 • Type of staff: o Day Shift - 1 CNC, 1 PCT, 5-8 RN, RCP, +/- Nurse Extern o Night Shift - 1 CNC, 1 PCT, 5-8 RN, RCP, +/- Nurse Extern • Patient Ratios - 1:1-3:1 • Type of equipment - GE Monitors, Avea ventilators, Medtronic/INVOS NIRS, Alaris pumps, Medfusion and Kangaroo feeding pumps • Specialized Equimpent: ECMO (Run by perfusionists or ECMO specialists,) CRRT (PrisMax and Prismaflex) • EMR -Meditech/Paper Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: Must have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. • Pediatric Critical Care Experience (minimum 1 year) Preferred or nice to have: Candidates with these skills will be considered first • Pediatric Cardiac Experience List typical procedures performed on unit(s): • Central line/arterial line insertion • Chest tube insertion/removal • Bronchoscopy • Chest closure (with OR team at bedside) • Emergent surgical procedures (with OR team at bedside) Best personality Fit: • Positive, energetic and team player REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: • BLS, PALS, ACLS Floating Area(s): • PICU, NICU, PEDS, Peds ER, MBU (NURSERY), & can task on other units throughout the hospital • Travel RNs are first to float to other units Dress Code: • Scrub Color/Attire - Royal Blue Weekends and On Call (if any) • Day Shift: 4 weekend days per 4-week schedule • Night Shift: 6 weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per 4-week schedule • On Call: None About CICU: The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Sunrise Children's Hospital is Nevada's only center for congenital heart care.
