Truck Sales Representative

General summary: This position utilizes our companys core values to sell all BTE products using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge skills to influence customers and assist them in applying our products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation for the company and excellent service for our customers. Essential functions include selling heavy-duty bodies, used trucks, trailers and related components specs, calling on prospective customers and assigned accounts within assigned territory, maintaining contacts with customers in relation to their requirements, identifying and profiling prospective customers, developing and applying strategies necessary to obtain orders, reporting on competitive activity, keeping informed on new products and other general information of interest to customers, and coordinating efforts with outside parts, service, and new and used heavy duty truck sales personnel to achieve full market penetration.

Marginal job tasks include the ability to tilt the hood of a truck and climb into the cab or onto the frame in order to demonstrate it to a customer or appraise its value. Recommended qualifications include possessing a valid CDL or the ability to get one in 60 days, at least 2 years experience in truck sales or applicable experience, and computer/telephone skills. Soft skills include verbal communication skills, being aggressive, self-motivated, having closing ability, being organized, and strong time management. Education and experience include a minimum high school diploma with appropriate experience, a bachelors degree is preferred, a minimum 2 years retail sales experience, preferably some heavy duty or medium duty truck experience, management ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, and commitment to company core values.
