Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 46-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Perform telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Manage patients post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and support CPap management
• Utilize unit equipment including GE Apex Pro Telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, Alaris PCA IV pump, and Hoyer lift
• Document patient care using Meditech Expanse electronic health record system
• Float as needed to post-surgical Med/Surg or PCU for telemetry overflow coverage

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (compact license accepted where applicable)
• BLS certification required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification required (must be recertified annually)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, and surgical drains
• Post-dialysis assessment skills and central line management experience
• Experience with blood transfusions and port access
