This highly visible Controller position offers the opportunity to oversee financial operations, lead accounting initiatives, and partner with senior leadership on key business decisions. We're seeking a hands-on accounting leader who combines strong technical expertise with sound judgment and a commitment to financial excellence.
What You'll Do
- Oversee accounting operations across real estate entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Manage property-level and corporate accounting activities, ensuring financial accuracy and consistency across entities.
- Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic financial initiatives.
- Oversee accounting related to real estate investments, acquisitions, financing arrangements, and property operations.
- Strengthen internal controls, improve reporting processes, and support audit and compliance activities.
- Leverage real estate ERP systems to enhance financial reporting, streamline accounting processes, and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership and guidance to accounting team members while promoting accountability and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Active CPA designation required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated growth in responsibilities.
- Strong background in real estate accounting, including property-level financial reporting and multi-entity accounting.
- Proven experience overseeing month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and GAAP-based accounting activities.
- Experience managing or mentoring accounting professionals.
- Hands-on experience with real estate accounting ERP systems such as Yardi, MRI Software, Sage 300 CRE, or similar platforms .
- Strong understanding of real estate transactions, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
