Brand Overview: Maurices is a retail company offering a range of women’s apparel, with a focus on affordability and inclusive sizing. Position Overview: The Manager in Training (MIT) works with the store manager and store teams to achieve sales goals, drive a customer‑focused environment, manage talent and performance, and execute visual standards. The MIT will complete a 3–6 month training program to prepare for a Store Manager position and will be relocated to a new or existing store within the group. Responsibilities: Customer Obsession – create and demonstrate fashion‑focused store environments, deliver product knowledge, and use customer service training resources. Driving Sales – manage sales goals, analyze store performance, adjust plans, manage payroll hours, assess visual needs, prepare schedules, and direct promotion programs. Talent Management – make hiring decisions, develop successors, provide actionable feedback, coach associates, and cultivate a rewarding working climate. Operational Execution – maintain store operations, minimize inventory loss, ensure execution of company direction, and enforce policies and procedures. Requirements: High School Degree or GED required; business or retail merchandising degree preferred. Supervisory experience in a customer‑focused environment; fashion industry experience preferred. Proven track record of achieving and setting goals and executing company direction. Experience in hiring, promoting, and motivating talent. Ability to lead by example, make sound decisions, and demonstrate professionalism. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Diligence and perseverance in the face of setbacks. Commitment to a specific store location or group of new and existing stores. Unique/Physical Requirements: Work varied hours/days as business dictates. Able to reach, push, pull, stand, squat and bend for up to 8+ hours. Able to operate and use all store equipment and computerized register system. Able to move or handle merchandise up to 50 pounds. Location: Store 1755-Stadium Center-Maurices-Manteca, CA 95337 Position Type: Regular/Full time Pay Range: Hourly: $24.76 – $26.25. Pay varies based on qualifications, experience, skill level and work location. Minimum wage or minimum of the pay range applies.
