Responsibilities include patient interviews, collecting and verifying demographic, insurance and financial data, accurately entering information into computer that affects any aspect of the registration, or admission, process. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, accurate typing skills, knowledge of office procedures, and ability to work independently required./ppJob Responsibilities:/pulliGreeting patients and caregivers on arrival in a welcoming and friendly manner./liliProviding support to patients, and their caregivers./liliProperly identifying patients utilizing two identifiers, name and date of birth, and scanning copy of patient identification into database./liliRegistering and pre-registering patients in database including collecting accurate demographic and insurance information, verifying insurance, and scanning copy of insurance card into database./liliProper completion and explanation of all required registration forms./liliProper filing of Imaging requisitions./liliAdherence to general admitting policies and procedures to include proper placement of patients on appropriate nursing unit in appropriate status per practitioner order, and proper transfer of patients per practitioner orders./liliTimely and accurate discharge of patients per practitioner order./liliCoverage of Switchboard during lunches, breaks, and during the night shift (2300-0700)/liliFollows proper procedures for deaths and autopsies to ensure timely handling of deceased patients./liliManagement of patient valuables in accordance with the hospital policy and procedure./liliCollection of copays as required, following cash drawer process./liliFlexibility in assuming other appropriate responsibilities and duties not noted above./li/ulpRequirements:/ppEducation: High school degree plus two years clerical experience required./ppExperience: Previous healthcare experience and medical terminology preferred./ppPhysical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e. use of computer keyboard). May require use of lifting and carrying light loads (up to 10 pounds). Sitting or standing/walking for long periods of time./p/div
