What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating one‑hour interactive life skills and social‑emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K‑8 students covering areas such as public speaking and concentration, adhering to Alpha's defined framework
• Conducting daily motivational sessions that ensure 100% of students reach their weekly application goals through age‑appropriate mechanisms including school currency and leaderboards
• Developing Guides via observation, specific feedback, and direct skill‑building so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and exactness
• Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to determine intervention needs, then providing personal intervention
• Directly mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational approaches you require from all Guides

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress through adaptive apps; your responsibility is elevating the people supporting them.
• Delivering traditional classroom lectures. Your role is 80% engagement specialist, 20% content expert; if standing at a whiteboard appeals to you, look elsewhere.
• Compromising standards due to parent or administrative pressure. When a student achieves 99%, the response remains "not yet" — and you'll have organizational support to maintain that position.
• Spending time in an office processing administrative documents. The majority of your day involves direct interaction with students and Guides.
• Waiting extended periods for performance assessment. Results appear in real‑time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.

Principal Learning Consultant Key Responsibilities

Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides under your leadership: every student develops genuine love for school, achieves 2x learning velocity, and acquires authentic life competencies.

Basic Requirements

• Currently residing in or prepared to relocate to one of the listed locations (relocation assistance available)
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master's preferred; conventional teaching certifications are not required)
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or related domain
• Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training systems
• Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including recruitment and performance‑driven dismissal decisions
• Background in coaching, mentoring, or delivering constructive feedback to enhance engagement and results
• Professional experience with youth populations ages 5–14 in educational or developmental contexts
• Competence using data and performance metrics to inform decisions and foster ongoing improvement
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice‑to‑have Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or Business
• Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program coordinator where you directly motivated children toward quantifiable objectives
• History coaching adults in positions where performance was monitored and evaluated
• Confidence presenting to large groups of children, capturing the attention of a room full of 8‑year‑olds

Working with Us

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
