Veterinary Practice Manager

Honey Creek Veterinary Hospital is a 5‑doctor small animal practice established in 1987. We are dedicated to compassionate care for our patients. A courteous and efficient veterinary practice manager will coordinate and manage all office administration procedures. Responsibilities include ordering, inventory management, scheduling, conflict resolution, staff training, and ensuring the practice runs efficiently while responding to pet owners’ questions regarding policies, appointments, and costs. To be successful, you should be patient, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking. Outstanding communication, organizational, and customer service skills are essential. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Make informal recommendations to the veterinary regional manager concerning personnel matters such as staffing needs, advancement, reassignments, hours of work, or other status changes affecting the receptionists. Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skills and advise employees of performance requirements. Recruit, hire, onboard, and terminate staff members as needed. Market the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community through events. Resolve employee complaints and explain policies and procedures. Work well with all team members and support the hospital, doctors, and practice philosophy. Maintain accurate patient records and veterinary terminology in line with practice procedures. Gather information from owners to complete records and coordinate scheduling and treatment. Address and resolve pet owners’ complaints promptly. Prepare employee work schedules and manage office staff. Provide strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills. Apply knowledge of English language structure and composition for accurate record keeping. Show unbiased judgment when managing people and make fair recommendations on personnel issues. Answer telephone calls professionally. Establish inventory control systems and monitor supplies, including controlled substances. Implement hospital policies, including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA. Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time. Establish vendor relationships for optimal support. Notify veterinary staff of emergency cases. Interview and train office staff as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications: Experienced or certified veterinary practice manager, minimum 1 year of management experience or 3+ years of veterinary experience preferred. Knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and running a veterinary hospital. Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator. Highly organized with computer skills. Self-starter with a desire to advance knowledge and skills. Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital needs. Additional Information We offer our staff: Salary: $50,000–$65,000 per year, depending on experience.
