Between calls, it is an expectation that the AMET RN is rounding within the tower, checking in with each unit, remaining aware of the sickest patient on each unit. This role helps give experienced nurses a chance to recognize concerns early and help bedside teams get the support they need to promote optimal patient outcomes. The AMET RN also works closely with the Nursing Operations Manager on a regular basis, supporting coordination and collaboration across hospital operations.The AMET role provides broad clinical exposure throughout the hospital, supporting acutely ill patients across medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac, intensive care, surgical, OB and emergency services. This variety offers nurses a well-rounded opportunity to apply their clinical expertise across multiple care settings. AMET nurses have helped bridge gaps and build strong working relationships with charge nurses, bedside caregivers and leadership teams to support coordinated, high-quality patient care. Here, you will have access to professional development opportunities include cross-training in Critical Care and the Emergency Department, with potential exposure to Nursing Operations.A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days, afternoons and nights, with an expectation to pick up additional shifts.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide direct nursing care.Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.Administer prescribed medications and treatments.Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.Educate patients and their families.Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross upon hire or within first year of employmentOne-year of current acute care RN experience.
