Urology Advanced Practice Provider (APP)Full-Time Employment TypeOrganization: Central Maine HealthcareLocation: Lewiston, Maine with 2 shifts per month in Rumford, MainePosition OverviewCentral Maine Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Urology APP to join its growing team of 3 Urologists and 2 APPs. The Urology APP provides comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic urological conditions in collaboration with urologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The APP evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients in an outpatient setting. Opportunity for 1st Assist in OR is available if desired. From award-winning chefs and fresh Maine seafood to craft breweries, waterfront dining and vibrant farmers markets, the city has become a destination for food lovers from around the world.ResponsibilitiesClinical CareConduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.Diagnose and manage common urological conditions such as:Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)Kidney stonesUrinary tract infections (UTIs)Overactive bladder and urinary incontinenceErectile dysfunctionHematuriaProstate, kidney, and bladder cancer follow-upOrder, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, imaging, and urodynamic testing.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.Procedural ResponsibilitiesPerform office-based procedures as permitted by training and credentialing, including:Catheter insertion and managementVoiding trialsBladder scansBladder instillationsPost-operative care and wound managementPatient EducationEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.Provide counseling regarding surgical procedures and post-operative expectations.Promote adherence to treatment plans and follow-up care.Collaboration & CoordinationCollaborate closely with urologists, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals.Coordinate referrals, consultations, and continuity of care.Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and quality improvement initiatives.Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.Participate in clinical audits and quality assurance activities.QualificationsANCC, AANPCB, or NCCPA board certificationCurrent state license as an Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantBLS upon hireDEA licensePrior experience in urology, surgery, oncology, or primary care preferred but not mandatoryPrevious experience with electronic health recordEmployment StatusFull TimeShiftDaysEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
