Founded in 1935, the not-for-profit Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) started as a 12-bed hospital in a Victorian home in Whiteville. Today, the modern 154-bed facility of CRHS is known for its skilled and dedicated medical providers, who represent a range of specialties.

Awards Case Assignments General, peds, vascular, robotic, urologic, orthopedic, OB and gynecologic surgery

Shifts Routinely three anesthesiologists are present each day. Early out next day for the physician who has been on call. Call averages every third night and every third weekend. Call from home, no nighttime labor epidurals and very low utilization.

Team Highlights Our group consists of four anesthesiologists and eight CRNAs who work together in a care team model. Our care team model means that we focus on giving everyone a voice, while supporting, respecting, and helping them to deliver care excellence.

Requirements Responsibilities Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the anesthesia department. Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures. Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and/or verifies patient consent. Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient. Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia. Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition. Performance of clinical intervention as needed.

Requirements M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited college of medicine. ECFMG and FLEX completion. Completion of approved residency in anesthesia. Currently licensed as a physician.
