ProCare Therapy is partnering with a school district in Newport, Rhode Island to hire a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026/2027 school year . Position Overview
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Caseload: K-12
- Dates: August 2026 - June 2027
- Additional caseload and assignment details will be discussed during the interview.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students receiving special education services.
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities.
- Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals.
- Implement accommodations and strategies outlined in student IEPs.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support student success.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must hold an active Rhode Island Teacher Assistant (TA) Certification or be eligible to obtain one before starting the assignment.
- Assignment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining an active Rhode Island TA/Paraprofessional Certification.
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
