This role is for the Honolulu area. The Field Adjuster is responsible for handling moderate complexity, first-party property claims that require on-site inspections. This role involves investigating losses, estimating damages using tools, and negotiating settlements. As a field-facing representative, the Field Adjuster is expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, technical knowledge, and independent judgment while supporting policyholders in often stressful situations. This position represents the transition point from desk-based work to field-based expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct on-site property inspections, including accurate scoping, photography, and development of written or computer-assisted estimates.

Investigate and evaluate first-party property claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages.

Review leases, contracts, by-laws, and policy documentation to assess claim validity.

Communicate professionally and empathetically with policyholders, public adjusters, contractors, attorneys, and vendors.

Utilize claims estimating tools to prepare and review estimates.

Coordinate with specialists (e.g., Subrogation, Fire/Fraud Investigators) as needed.

Document all claim activities and maintain accurate notes in compliance with internal guidelines.

Maintain appropriate reserves and update as new claim information is obtained.

Draft clear and accurate correspondence, including Reservation of Rights and denial letters.

Negotiate settlements within authority limits and escalate more complex issues as needed.

Represent the company at legal proceedings such as depositions, EUOs, mediations, and trials.

Stay current on repair techniques, local construction costs, and market trends.

Respond to inquiries from internal staff and customers and report safety or compliance concerns.

Travel regularly within an assigned region with occasional travel beyond the territory.

Participate in surge or CAT operations, which may require extended hours or overnight stays.

Comply with all federal, state, and company regulations and policies.

Job Qualifications:

Required HI state licensing must be obtained and maintained.

5 years of property claims experience; field adjusting.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and claims systems.

Demonstrated ability to investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims independently.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical thinking, time management, and organizational skills.

Customer-focused with professionalism in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.

Ability to work independently and manage a mobile schedule.

Must be able to climb, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.

Travel throughout an assigned region is required; occasional travel outside the region may occur.

Pre-employment drug test and health screening required.
